Georgia Signed Open Skies Aviation Agreement with U.S.

June 21, 2007. U.S. Department of State’s Harry S. Truman Building in Washington, DC. Minister of Economic Development George Arveladze and Assistant Secretary for Economic, Energy and Business Affairs Daniel S. Sullivan signed for their respective governments a comprehensive Open Skies framework agreement expanding and liberalizing our bilateral civil aviation relations.  The agreement was reached after a year of consultations between officials of Georgia’s Ministry of Economic Development and a U.S. interagency team chaired by State’s Bureau of Economic, Energy and Business Affairs and including officials from the U.S. Department of Transportation and the U.S. Department of Commerce. The Open Skies agreement is a part of a substantial package of economic cooperation initiatives with Georgia.
