Georgia named for Freedom Ally 2016 Award

On June 18th, 150 anniversary celebration of Buffalo Soldiers in Columbia, South Carolina opened by Georgian anthem to mark Georgia-U.S. longstanding partnership. The event was attended by the honorary delegation from the Embassy of Georgia in the United States.

Celebrate Freedom Foundation, in agreement with the U.S. Congress, selected Georgia for Freedom Ally 2016 Award. Georgia has become the first NATO non-member country receiving it. 

Congressman of South Carolina Joe Wilson handed the Freedom Ally 2016 Award to the Ambassador of Georgia Archil Gegeshidze and Georgian Defense Attaché Vepkhvia Chalabashvili. The award is presented to honor Georgia for its extraordinary and courageous contributions to the defense of liberty and democracy: “Be it known that the Nation of Georgia, its leaders and citizens, have made tremendous sacrifices as an ally and partner of the United States of America in the fight for freedom”.
